Contract law is at the heart of the day-to-day work of solicitors. Whether you are involved in the negotiation and drafting of contracts, or advising in relation to disputes, you need to be aware of key recent developments.
Our Contract Law Update provides a comprehensive review of all important developments in the law of contract over the last year. The presenters, Laura Macgregor and Lorna Richardson are experts in their field and combine academic depth with practical insights.
The seminar covers:
• All major Scottish decisions in 2024/25, at all levels of the Scottish courts;
• Significant English cases in 2024/25 having or likely to have an impact on Scots law;
• Important statutory developments; and
• Upcoming legal reforms to be aware of.
All aspects of the law of contract are considered, including formation, interpretation, implication of terms and remedies for breach of contract. The seminar will also cover significant developments on the transferred loss doctrine arising in the last year. Developments are placed in context, so that trends or new directions in the law can be identified.
Read below the feedback from previous seminars.
In addition to the two hour seminar and Q&A session*, you will also receive a substantial set of materials providing thorough notes on all cases and statutory developments – an indispensable update to your contract law resources.
*Delegates have the opportunity to email questions related to the seminar and attend a supplementary Q&A session where those questions will be discussed. The Q&A will take place via Zoom on Thursday 6 November from 1-2pm subject to a sufficient number of questions being submitted in the time frame provided.
